Ballet Shoes

Ballet Shoes

An unusual explorer named Gum (Richard Griffiths) and his kindly niece (Emilia Fox) adopt three orphans -- Pauline (Emma Watson), Petrova (Yasmin Paige) and Posy (Lucy Boynton) -- and raise them as sisters in 1930s London. But the girls must fend for themselves when Gum doesn't return from one of his adventures. Together, they nurture their passions for acting, aviation and ballet in this charming TV adaptation of Noel Streatfield's novel.

Some Reviews

4 Stars

Very nice movie, better than I expected. Despite the name, the story is not really about ballet, but about unselfishness and overcoming adversity. A sweet film, but not sappy. The only fault I found with it was not being able to hear or catch all the dialogue. Captions would have been very helpful.

This is a sweet little movie. A good one for all to watch, especially tween girls. 3 1/2 stars.

I love paulines preformances as Alice in Wonderland, A Midsummer Nights Dream, and Cinderella. Adorable movie. Will definatly rent it again.

  1. This is my favourite film of all time. If you have not seen it then I cannot recommend it enough. I am 15 and I still love it. Despite the title it has very little ballet in it and Petrova,Pauline and Posy are my favourite lead females. I implore you to see this film, you won’t regret it I promis!
